Starting with our beloved…. toilet paper!
About 6 months ago, I discovered the brilliant Australian based startup, Who Gives A Crap , that sells sustainable toilet paper, paper towels and tissues. They recently came out with their famous Dream Cloths that can be used to wash dishes, countertops and more! In 2012, the founders began WGAC with an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, raising over $60,000 in just over 2 days!
Aside from their name being unforgettable and FUNNY, Who Gives A Crap has an impact that is far more memorable and has made a difference for many people around the world who do not have access to toilets. What makes me love this company even more is their plastic free products and mission to give back. 50% of their profits are donated to organizations that help build toilets and provide proper sanitation for billions of people in need, globally. WASH is the example they use to remind everyone that these three elements are part of a bigger picture: they help save lives, help with economic growth and help stabilize communities.
